Have read three chapters of 'Pride and prejudice and Zombies'. If you love Jane Austen books, then you'll hate this. If you like Austen and love 2000a.d. then this is a book for you.
This challenge began in response to an options paralysis and reading rut I had gotten myself into. I couldn't choose anew book to read and I didn't know what to read. So, inspired by an article by a chap from the KLF (can't remember which one) who developed a similar problem with music, I devised the Alphabet Book Challenge.
The idea was simple, begin at A, work through to Z. This idea would challenge me to read genres and authors never before dreamt of! I gave the idea a bit of thought, the chap from the KLF was spending a year only buying and listening to music in the A section - whoa too long. I refined and honed his ideas into the following rules.
There are rules, and they are evolving.
For three months read only fiction books who's authors last name begins with A, then move onto B (for three months), then C etc. etc.
There are exemptions to the above rule, exempted are:
comics/grahic novels, I can read any of them.
Non-fiction and poetry
I have also the rider that I can reread anything I have read before, and any Terry Pratchett novel. But really, apart from once at me mother-in-laws this has so far been unnecessary.
